Primosten is known by its name Capusta Cista from documents from 1564
aD. Originally it was an island, a place protected from Turks by a
stonewall with towers, connected to the mainland with a mobile bridge
that was replaced with embankment later on and Primosten becomes a
peninsula.
Even today Primosten kept an atmosphere and all the architectonical
characteristics of the medieval Mediterranean fishermen village. Church
of Sv. Juraj built in 1485 aD dominates the town. It is in the highest
point of the former island. Church of Gospa od Milosti from 1553 aD
and chapel of Sv. Rok from 1680 aD are also famous.
Today Primosten is an important tourist destination with many possibilities
for accommodation, many restaurants, taverns and coffe bars.
Stone cells of vineyards of Babic on nearby hills are testimony
that man s work can transform and ennoble even the most hostile
environment.
Beautiful beaches on Raduca peninsula with crystal clear sea, white
