Arrivng at Šibenik from the mainland . one passes small places along the River Krka , that magnificent stream of the karst . One can never be sure where does this river exactly end , and where does the sea begin or perhaps the sea entered the river mouth . The fishermen catch there the sea and the river fish at the same time . If one makes the stop before reaching the coast from the mainland , one can catch among the villas and nice restaurants at Brodarica the view of a small island Krapanj where sponge divers live . The tradition is still kept there . The crossing to the island is one of the shortest crossing by boat , taking only two minutes . It is a crossing between contemporaneity and eternity .

This sea has been crossed for ages , from the times of roman galleys Croatian " Korablji " sailing ships , Murter " Gajeta " - boats to modern cruisers , but nothing has changed essentially ! Only several scattered houses anchored somewhere deep in the lagoons differ from the premival scenary on about hundred islands of the Kornati archipelago . The undersea beauty has remained the same , the figs are being dried in the same way on the piers as before , even the old and the new seafarers follow the same rutes with the same destination  : to the open sea and the Kornati islands in it . They may come only from different ports  - the formerfrom their pastoral tranquility of villages and piers , protruding like fingers in the blue sea , and the latter escaping from their crowded modern marinas of Europe . But there are no collisions , only permeation of two different worlds and livings .
